Blaine flinched, eyes closing. Nonono. This wasn't happening. Kurt couldn't be slipping through his fingers, not now. "Y-yes," he admitted quietly. It wasn't like he could just leave once it had started. He had been stuck there. He was in no shape to drive home.

"Why?" Kurt asked, voice cracking, "I...I thought it had been a one night thing..."

"Wh- I couldn't just leave, Kurt," Blaine said, bewildered. Kurt knew when it had happened, that he'd been in heat. What was he supposed to have done, just left while he was delirious with hormones?

"Why not?" Kurt asked, confusion and frustration clouding his voice.

"Because I was in heat!" Blaine exclaimed, voice cracking. "If I'd tried to drive home, I probably would have ended up dead!" Not that that was sounding like such a terrible option at this point.

"You... You were in heat?" Kurt asked, his voice suddenly quiet. He hadn't thought... hadn't remembered Blaine being in heat that weekend.

Blaine made an uncertain sound. "Well... yeah. It was the end of the month, Kurt. It's always at the end of the month." How had Kurt missed that? Blaine's heats were always from the very end of one to the very start of the next.

"So... You went to someone else instead of calling me?" Kurt asked, hurt. Blaine always called him when the heat started, always.

"No, Kurt, that's not, that's not what happened!" Blaine felt tears breaking free and sliding down his face. "I didn't notice, it was stupid, I wasn't paying attention. I went to watch TV and talk, and then it just started and I didn't know what to do." Eli had been all over him the second Blaine had made a distressed sound of recognition.

Kurt paused, making a noise of distress, "So you slept with him," he said quietly, "When you were in heat. Did he know you had... a boyfriend?"

"Yes. I, I told him. We'd talked about you before, a little. When he first..." Blaine licked his lips and swallowed. "When he kissed me, I told him I needed to call you, but..." He trailed off, trying to piece together the scene again, to recall exactly what happened so as not to confuse or mislead Kurt on the issue any more.

"Wait," Kurt said, "He... he kissed you? And you wanted to call me?" Kurt voice broke a little, emotions getting the best of him, realization starting to set in.

"Of course I wanted to call you," Blaine said. "I always want to call you. But you were so busy, and he said you wouldn't pick up if I did, and everything was getting kind of foggy. I don't... I don't remember all the details, but he wasn't you, and you were all I wanted. He didn't smell right, or taste right, and he wasn't as careful as you are." He was really crying now, talking about it. Blaine had gotten off, time and time and time again, that weekend, but it wasn't with Kurt and it didn't feel right.

Kurt inhaled sharply, "Blaine, he... he took advantage of you. He shouldn't have done what he did, shouldn't have convinced you to stay with him." His voice was shaking, he felt sick.

"I..." Blaine didn't get it. Why did everyone keep talking about it like this, like it wasn't his fault? He'd been a little flirty online, had gone to Eli's house. Puck had said something about hormones and putting the blame there, like they'd made the decision for Blaine when, really, he hadn't made any decision at all. Tina had used that phrase, 'taking advantage'. Something was hanging in the back of his head, covered and hidden, but trying to break free, something Kurt and Tina and maybe even Puck had been hinting at, but he couldn't pull the curtains away yet, couldn't catch the thought well enough to understand it.
